This program adheres to the policy of "Fostering students with suitable talents according to the characteristics of students and the orientation of the school". It is based on the concept of "deepening, reengineering, cross-domain, innovation and sustainability", and "evolving the effectiveness of student learning 2.0" is the plan goal, combined with the school’s characteristics of the school and the development direction and goals of the school affairs, based on the foundation period of 2018 and the implementation period of 2019, combined with the school’s characteristics of  2020 school year and the school affairs of the 2019 to 2023 school year Development direction and goals, through 4 sub-projects, 12 sub-plans and 39 implementation plans through "Implementing Teaching Innovation and Improving Teaching Quality", "Developing School Features", "Improving the Publicity of Higher Education" and "Fulfilling Social Responsibility" The promotion of this school’s 125-year teaching model, deepen students’ motivation and practical ability for independent learning, enhance teachers’ and students’ cross-domain cooperation and integration capabilities, develop international school’s characteristic talent cultivation, and strengthen teachers’ and students’ ability to care for the society, and create the school’s teaching Learn new highlights and new values, and implement the purpose of university social responsibility.

§ Keep clam and study at home § 

    Our school has promoted Push-Pull self-directed learning courses since 2018, and has formed a trend of students' self-directed learning on campus. To meet the learning needs of our students and provide them with uninterrupted and rich and diverse learning resources, self-learning courses changed its enrollment period from per-semester to monthly. Even during distance learning time and summer vacation, tms+ (Training Management System) with 24-hours uninterrupted learning and assessment, breaks the limitations of the time and space, provides students with flexible and diverse learning freedom, and uses multiple learning models, information and resources to stimulate students' cross-domain learning and training second skill, and through the introduction of multiple professional teachers, broaden students’ learning horizons. In 2021, the program held 67 face to face-to-face courses and 28 online courses, and the number of participating students reached 5,541 persons. The number of courses increased by 3.5 times compared with year 2018, and the number of participating students increased by 5 times compared with 2018. At the same time, this program It also combines the three-level and three-review mechanism of the school’s courses and the tms+ platform to open 14 courses which is included in general education self-learning credits. The number of courses taken has increased by 1.33 times compared with 2020, which shows that our students are not limited by time, space and environment. In addition to the learning of professional courses, the demand for cross-domain ablilty and the effectiveness of learning have increased significantly.

In 2021, our plan combines schools’ three-level and three-review mechanism and tms+ platform, holding " English Marketing and Presentation", " English Situational Listening and Speaking", and "TOPIK I Test Skills" , "American Film and Television Culture and English", "Easily Learn Japanese 2", "Elder Sports Course Professional Training", "Active Aging Sports Professional Course Practical Internship", "TOEIC Strength Development Class", "TOEIC Golden Certificate Writing and Speaking Class", " Business Visual Graphic Design", "TOEIC Test Practical Class", "Adobe Illustrator Teaching", "Excel Practice Application", a total of 14 classes in general education self-learning courses, participating students reached 768 persons, an increase of 1.33 times compared with 2020. In summary, since our school has promoted free elective credits and flexible electives since course reform, the effectiveness of promoting students' learning autonomy and freedom has been greatly improved.

 

§ Students producing online course on tms+ platform, inspires new learning model §

    In view of the changes in reading and listening habits of the new generation, YouTuber and Podcaster have become university students’ dreaming occupation. Moreover, in this era, everyone can be self-media, exporting ones professional knowledge is an indispensable skill for the new generation. Due to level 3 COVID-19 epidemic alert, our students (especially economically disadvantaged students) faced with the impact on the life and economy. Our plan combined with the plan to promote the tms+ platform which has built over the three years,  we recruit students as a lecturer, encourage students to show their expertise or learning results during the epidemic and produce online courses on tms+ platform. Not only providing more diverse learning topics, but also solving the economic obstacle students encountered in epidemic. This event recruited 34 online courses in total, including diabolo, badminton, weightlifting, free diving, sports weight loss, afternoon tea dishes, Chinese cuisine, blog management, drama performances, Vietnamese culture, Hakka culture,class management, educational board games, etc. The diversity of courses shows our students’ talent and the diverse abilities, and the awards of approved course can alleviate students’ economic pressure who lost their part time job in epidemic.

 

§ Cross-school online writing workshop in Chinese and English §

    To stimulate the motivation of our students in Chinese-English writing and reading, and to enhance their ability to express. We launched the "Chinese-English Online Writing Worksop" in tms+ system from, focusing on "Close to Life and Promote Thinking". The school’s professional consultant and industrial experts regularly publish designated topics, including social, technological, international, current affairs and other topics, and guide students to choose interesting topics to write by the introduction. Our senior Chinese and English professors review industrial experts as correction teachers and provide students writing comments and suggestion, providing interactive guidance for students to improve their writing through online discussion forums. Through peer reviews, excellent writing reward mechanism, participating students find the joy of writing from the attempts of multiple writing themes and find their own writing style in continuous writing, and form an independent writing and reading culture on campus.

In 2021, we carried out 2 sessions of "Chinese-English Online Writing Workshop". Since students may not always have designated writing situations in their future, they need to discover issues in life. Therefore, difference from 2020, students have proposed and voted on topics by i-voting this year. This approach ensures that the direction of writing propositions is not out of touch with the students’ ideas and let student gradually explore the joy of writing through voting propositions. Moreover, this approach also encourage students to exert their observation skills and train their issue-setting ability, and become opinion leaders who can lead the direction of discussion.

In addition, in order to broaden students’ horizon of writing and reading and promoting the communicating between schools. Our workshop was opened to enrolment for students from colleges and universities across Taiwan in 2021. Among the 498 participating students(114 students from other schools), produced a total of 433 Chinese writing. 1,007 works in English writing, and 148 excellent writings were selected and from the selection to form a collection of excellent works, 30 of which are presented by students from other schools, and are published on our higher education SPROUT project webpage for colleges and universities across the country to observe and learn. In addition, to enhance the interaction and immediacy of learning, we invited teachers lecture writing analysis, answering students’ questions about writing, appreciating good writing , and analyzing the overall The pros and cons of writing through online or face-to-face in the end of workshop, and also awards students who selected for excellent writing.

§  Create creative, creative, and entrepreneurial atmosphere for students  §

    “@D.School: An experimental design academy” promoted by this project adheres to the tenet of "design thinking, future life needs, interdisciplinary innovation, and creative practice". It encourages students by planning diverse and serial thinking training and practical ability promotion courses Cross-faculty students view the world from the perspective of design thinking, propose imaginations for future life, and participate in exercises through actual cases to change society, and propose feasible solutions, products, and services for the needs of the general public. Courses includes "Core characteristic courses", "Topical and practical courses", "Cross-field workshops" and "Micro-creation courses".

In 2020, a total of 3 core characteristic courses "Visual communication design", " Advanced image ", "Portfolio design", and a total of 7 topical and practical courses "Illustrated Thinking: Career Exploration and Communication Expression", "Independent Publishing Markets and Trends", "Professional Workplace Image Creation", "Illustration Brokerage and Intellectual Property Rights", "Design Industry Career Management",1 cross-domain workshop "Photographic Narrative Layout"

, and a total of 6 micro-creation courses "Needle Felting: Animal Pen Case", "Cold Soap: Scent Experiment", "Leather: Reincarnation of Waste Leather", "Handmade Paper: Landscape on Paper with Seasons", "Printing: New Look of Old Wood-Chair and Stool Type Dyeing Printing", "Printing: Book Clothes Rejuvenation Technique: Continuous Stamp Printing" A total of 529 students from different department participated, an increase of about 72% compared to 2020. In addition, in the hardware equipment, in order to meet the college’s courses and activities, the college has experimental classrooms of the Future Life Creative Design Institute, digital output studios and "d. design Store cultural design experimental store" to provide students and teachers It is a creative base for brainstorming, creative refinement, hands-on practice, review and display of cultural and creative products.

In addition, in order to encourage student cross-field thinking, make students produce product, and face public feedback, @D School encourages students to propose original plans, branded products and services through the "d. design Store cultural design experimental store". At the same time, the creative design internship center also assists students in matching internship opportunities with art, drama, digital art, cultural curation and other industry manufacturers. In 2021, students who participated in the college courses continued to develop original brand products. After prototype testing and production, a number of new works were produced, such as 10 pillows which is co-branding with University of Taipei,3 folder co-branding with our library, 4 school-mascot cap co-branding, 28 colorful new design T-Shirt, 4 self-developed design printed handbags, 4 original cup sleeve, storage bags, and 2 silk-printed canvas bags, 1 "Jacaranda" paper tree blossom ornaments and other cultural and creative products with campus characteristics. In addition, college held needle felting mini exhibition, the old wood recycled chair and stool type dyeing and printing exhibition, and hold the @D. School Teaching Achievement Exhibition in the multi-functional reading space on the fourth floor of the school library on November 28, 2021. Inviting representatives of 4 manufacturers including JY.artpaper, Yuen Foong Web to Print, National Theater and Concert Hall, and Rusuban Publishing Studio to participate in the guidance, showing that the college’s learning outcomes in the past year.

§  The Cradle of Bilingual Teacher Training in Primary Schools §

In response to the internationalization trend of global education and the Executive Yuan’s bilingual country’s policies, we promoted the bilingual teacher training project for national elementary schools through the "English Teaching Research Center" in 2021. In terms of promoting bilingual teacher training courses, it is aimed demand of teachers training to open bilingual teaching courses in physical education and art and literature. To enhance teacher education’ English teaching ability, besides organize teacher students’ English enhancement lectures and invite professional lecturers to perform bilingual teaching teachers to share teaching methods to improve their English ability; in the compilation of bilingual physical education textbooks, experts and scholars in various fields are invited to compile and publish classroom language manuals, and in-service teachers are provided as teaching aids. In addition, in order to enhance the capability of bilingual teaching for county teachers, our English Teaching Research Center cooperated with foreign experts and scholars to organize bilingual teaching and research camps in Taipei County, Yilan County, Chiayi County, and Hsinchu County to assist and improve county teachers’ bilingualism. The application of teachers in bilingual schools and bilingual classroom teaching is conducive to the improvement and continuous development of in-service teachers in teaching, enhancing the influence of bilingual teaching knowledge and ability, and the thinking about the fields and issues of academic research.

§  Competitive sports gold medalists and national sports §

2021 was a very fruitful year in our school for winning gold medals in sport event at home and abroad. In international competitions, our school won the gold medal in men's doubles and the silver medal in women's singles respectively in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic badminton event. In addition, in domestic competitions, the school won 57 gold, 52 silver and 56 bronze in the 2021 National College Games, ranking first in the country in the number of awards, and it has grown 17 medals compared to 2020, which fully demonstrates that our school’s strength as one of the most important universities for gold medalists.

§  Cultivation of innovative talents in a city full of caring §

Our project integrates cross-domain courses and teaching resources of music, visual art and sports art, media design, history, geography and computer science to cultivate students' ability to use digital technology for cultural creative creation and international performances. Expand digital technology, and cooperation with cultural creation industry, and strengthen students' understanding and practical operation of digital technology combined with cultural creation and performance, so that students have professional skills for employment to meet future employment needs.In 2021, our students won the Gold Medal Award in the Guided Interpretation Design Group (foreign language category) in the "2021 Tourism Cup" with "Old Understanding (Luodong) Roaming". Students cooperate with Taipei Xinyi community college, Songshan community college, Nangang elementary school, Zhongshan elementary school in activities such as drones, virtual reality and augmented reality, mapping and handling of campus tours, community safety, hometown historical development and landscape changes lectures and workshops. At the same time, our project show fully demonstrating both soft and hard power of our school to perform cross-domain talents through "School Birthday Concert", "2021 Concerto Night Concert", "Lunch Time Concert", "Graduation Concert", "Internship Concert", and English dramas "Behind the Curtain" , "Suspended and Restored" visual arts annual special exhibition and annual sports performance.

In terms of cultivation of cross-domain talents in sports leisure and sports health for the elderly, our project not only trains students who is not athletes or specialize in physical education in our school has professional and cross-field communicating skills, and cultivates them to participate in leisure sports and health industry. Cross-domain cooperation between professional teachers and professional teachers of college of Education, the college of Humanities and Arts, the college of Science, the college of kinesiology Education, the college of city management, and active ageing sports institute to jointly develop the cross-domain innovative teaching model for senior sports guidance, cross-domain health care teaching model, micro-courses and credits course, cultivates students to have the ability to test the physical fitness of the elderly, process and analyze the data to provide the elderly with customized exercise prescriptions, and enhance their employment power in the elderly sports health industry.

In addition, as the nation’s first cross-field city management professional training organization, in 2021, our school plans to conduct an industry-academic cooperation project with CPC Corporation’s coffee brand "Cup & Go" to cultivate students’ independent thinking, Creative design and implementation capabilities. And then compete with a total of 21 colleges and universities teams, provide marketing innovation services, transform CPC Corporation into a diversified business model, and assist integrate integrated marketing model through internet and entity in Taipei City Beitou and Xinyi Station, introduced CPC Corporation’s coffee culture into the community. In addition, during the severe COVID-19 in 2021 and the implementation of nationwide level 3 epidemic alert, our teachers and students assisted Beitou Jiqing Village and Sanzhi Fucheng community to build community-owned media "Beitou Jiqing Village - Local Creation" fanstie and "Sanzhi Waste Utilization Creative Museum" fanstie, coaches local communication talents, assists communities in disseminating epidemic-related information and community product marketing, and tell community stories.

§  The practice of university social responsibility that the world and Taiwan can see §

 

2021 was a fruitful year for our school to implement university social responsibility. In second phase of promoting university social responsibility, among the two sprout type projects with school characteristics that our school received subsidies, Active Ageing Sports Institute won the 2021 Global Views Monthly USR Welfare Symbiosis Model Award, and the related report of this project was published twice in the world's largest International Counsel on Active Ageing (ICAA) Journal, 2021 Volume 20, Issue 4, let the world see University of Taipei. And the institute cooperate with Cathay Life Insurance Company which is also won Model Award to start CSR x USR industry-university cooperation. Besides, Center for Innovation Research and Practice on Smart Aging which is held "Vision 2025—TAIPEIWAY " project was awarded team prize of "Taiwan Family 100 Mutual Aid and Symbiosis Practices Recruitment" held by Xinyi Charity Foundation and won the "Lifelong Learning Award" of Senior School organized by Department of Education,Taipei City Government.

At the same time, in 2021, our school has cultivated and fostered USR outstanding teacher community, USR seed team and USR Hub project. This year, based on the school development and talent cultivation characteristics, and closely related to the uneven distribution of educational resources and the aging society in the Taipei metropolitan area, a USR outstanding teacher community, 4 USR seed teams, and 4 USR Hub projects were fostered. Regarding the issue of uneven distribution of educational resources, USR Hub “Mental Therapy Product Design and Field Promotion- Innovation  from Diverse Society and Disadvantaged Group Issues”, “Tribal Music Volunteers’ Dreams Take Off”, USR seed teams “Network Platform Establishment and Development for Disadvantaged Groups”, “Field Rejuvenation Project”, “Walking to Rural Areas, Being good together - New Taipei City Rural Service Education”, “Smart Cross-Education Technology Innovation for STEAM Application and Promotion” and USR outstanding teacher community “Integration of Multiple Leisure Activities Research on the career interest exploration and career exploration of youth with disabilities”. Through inter-departmental and cross-domain cooperation between teachers and students, introduces school’s excellent teaching profession, rich learning resources and related professionals into the rural and disadvantaged groups, put an end to social problems caused by the uneven distribution of educational resources. During the severe period of the COVID-19 epidemic, innovation is used to break through the gap in space. For example, the production of “the Bros in Talk” Podcast channel, through the production of themed programs, encourages students to pay attention to local development issues, cultivates digital marketing capabilities, and promotes local groups, moreover, improve the activity-promoting effectiveness, and then spur the development of local energy. In terms of aging society issues, our school’s USR Hub Project “Music Comforts people—Diversified Social Practices in Music”, “Young and Elderly Co-creation, a Friendly and Caring City for the Elderly with the Community as the Core”, and USR seed team “Young and Elderly, Happy Angels Move Up”. 

Aiming to prevention of physical aging, health-caring and lifelong education of the elderly. Our teams held multi-sports guidance and learning tutoring activities, and integrates the education of children and teenagers to create a social atmosphere of harmonious coexistence across generations.

§  Ode to Christmas, Sharing Love Infinitely §

Our school upholds the fine tradition of cultivating the sincerity and practice of students caring for the society and serving the public. Since 2013, we have cooperated with Taipei Municipal School of Special Education every Christmas to organize the warm and caring activities of "Ode to Christmas, Sharing Love Infinitely". This event is based on the concept of our gold medalist to join celebrating Christmas in 2013. The school’s badminton gold medalist Tai Tzu-Ying was invited to serve as the first and second event ambassador to promote " Ode to Christmas, Sharing Love Infinitely". Our teachers and student volunteers who cooperate with Taipei Municipal School of Special Education for a long time, and students from college of kinesiology who have superb physical skills to participate in the planning activities. From 2017 to 2019, we have invited our school’s outstanding gold medalists such as karate gold medalist Gu Shiau-shuang, badminton gold medalist Po Li-Wei, and Olympic badminton men’s doubles gold medalists Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin as guests of the annual event. Moreover, through performances of playing violin, piano ensemble and four-handed play by department of music teachers, street dance, technical basketball, dagon and lion Dance, diabolo, drama, music and dance, as well as magic performances, interactive balloon games, lively interactive activities such as joy-driven jumping and delivery of Christmas gifts. Each year with teachers and students of Taipei Municipal School of Special Education to spend a happy Christmas festival, sharing the love and blessings of University of Taipei.
